The Power of a Phone Call
Posted on Sunday, October 11th, 2009
This past summer I attended a very informative real estate conference. One of the speakers, Eric Blackwell , talked about the idea of making connections online. So many of us get caught up with the idea of commenting on blogs just to get a link or posting miscellaneous information on forums to reach a certain number of posts. Everyone wants more Twitter followers, right? For what? If there is no real connection, then what’s the point?
Since the conference, I have taken it upon myself to try and make the connection when working in real estate. So far, I have been rewarded tenfold. Just recently I had a great conversation with Denver real estate agent Brian Kinkade. What I intended to be a quick twenty minute conversation about drip campaigns turned into an hour and half conversation filled with great information.
We covered things like:
- Lead Management services
- Good blogs for guest posting
- Back linking ideas
- Content creation
- Drips campaigns
- Leads statics comparison
- and a number of other topics
All of this information was shared because I wanted to reach out and make the connection with Brian. These connections don’t have to be within your business. I have talked with a number of people who have nothing to do with real estate. Just because I was interested in their business or something they mentioned in a post.
It is so easy to get caught up in publishing that next blog post or updating Twitter with a funny Tweet. At the end of the day it is all about the connections made. If you have questions or just want to share information with me, feel free to contact me . I will be happy to share ideas, information, or even embarrassing lessons learned (that’s the best way to learn some lessons).
